There has been an idea for a humorous science fiction story bouncing around the corners of my brain for a while now. With how many stories out there about some person becoming the “Chosen One,” I wanted to know, what happens if the person destined to be the Chosen One doesn’t get chosen and the person who does is a big ol’ idiot.
Imagine Kung Fu Panda, but in the real world with superpowers and they have to save the world from an alien invasion.
It’s a work-in-progress and I’m only at Chapter One, but I am offering this story for FREE on Wattpad so as you deal with self-quarantines and government shelter-in-places, you can read something that will both hold your attention and make you laugh. Any way to kill time right now, right?
Because this is still a WIP, you may see some changes if you follow along from Chapter One. I promise names won’t change though and I will go back and edit any important changes to previous chapters.

Simon was called by the Ancients as a child to become the Chosen One. He began studying everything about it until he was ready to be given his powers, right in time as the world is attacked by aliens. But as he steps into the light to accept his gift…
Wham!
Some random girl pushes him out of the way to “save” him from the aliens. Instead, she pushes him out of the light and accidentally becomes the Chosen One.
Now Simon and his team must retrain a completely new Chosen One, cramming a decade of knowledge into a few weeks’ time before the aliens return for the final battle. But how will they accomplish it when the new Chosen One is more interested in eating candy and forgets half of what she learns?
